Start by going to the Application Hub on CFNC.org. Some colleges use multiple applications like the Common App and the CFNC.org application. During College Application Week (10/21/24 - 10/27/24), we can only guarantee that your application fee will be waived for participating colleges when you start from CFNC.org. Check with the college if you are not using the CFNC application and are unsure if the application is waiving the fee.

Yes, there are SAT, ACT, and NACAC fee waivers. Check with your school counselor for more information.

North Carolina Countdown to College is designed to assist NC high school seniors in taking the steps to apply to college. To support this initiative, we ask NC colleges and universities to consider waiving admissions fees for North Carolina high school students. We do find that some schools enjoy the opportunity to expand their fee waivers to other groups (out-of-state, transfer, or grad students). However, those choices are made by the individual campuses and we do not have information on which schools might expand their waivers to other groups.
