Resources for Students Affected by Hurricane Helene

As students and families affected by Hurricane Helene begin moving forward in their college application journey, here are several resources to answer questions and provide support in applying to college and qualifying for financial assistance.

Application Fee Waivers

University of North Carolina institutions waived application fees for students from 39 disaster-declared counties and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians during College Application Week, Oct. 21-27.

NC State University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and University of North Carolina at Wilmington are extending fee waivers beyond College Application Week for students from the disaster-declared counties. More information about fee waivers and which counties qualify here.
